Just in time for summer, the Mathews Outdoor Club (MOC) Fitness Programs are open – Join Us! Offered in various locations in Mathews County, these outdoor fitness sessions are a nice supplement to your existing gym membership OR will fit neatly into your personal schedule. That’s because they are completely “pay as you go” – we provide the date, time & venue: you show up, pay a low per-session cost ($5) for the sessions you attend. MOC Fitness Programs are open to adults age 18 & older – you do not need to be a resident of Mathews County to participate.
How much? The MOC programs require that all participants complete a waiver and pay one-time fee when you sign up. The waiver & fee cover all MOC fitness offerings in 2021 – the existing ones and any that are added this year. Learn more & sign up at mocva.net/fitness
What & where?
Cardio Sculpt is a one-hour group exercise class held on Wed evenings 6-7pm starting May 26. This class will be held at Thomas Hunter Middle School in Mathews, Virginia; it has a covered pavilion, 1/4 mile running track and one mile cross country trail – plenty of options for a good workout.
Our popular Open Water Swim sessions start back up on June 1st at Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews County, weeknights (M-F) from 5:20-7:00pm. Open Water Swim is a self-paced lap swim program; it is not instructor-led class nor is it for “play” – Williams Wharf is not open for swimming other than through this program. Participants who complete the waiver can show up for self-paced exercise and pay the Attendant $5 each time.
There’s more to come
The Cardio Sculpt & Open Water Swim sessions are just the first two fitness classes offered by the MOC – we’ll be adding a Boot Camp class soon, and even more options in the future. Mathews County is full of scenic outdoor locations that provide ideal settings for outdoor enjoyment. We hope to see you at one of MOC’s programs soon. JOIN US!

Is there any outdoor yoga doing on? Also wanted to know if I can sign up to Walk in the half marathon instead of run. Thanks
