“Where do the locals go?”
When you visit an area, you see all the well known spots and participate in well known events. For those instances when you may want to “look under the covers” we’ve got just the thing. Book a bike or paddle tour with one of our guides. You’ll see the nooks-and-crannies of Mathews County at a pace of your choosing. Select from one of the tour options below for more information on available dates & times.
These outdoor tours will open back up in the Spring when the weather warms up.
Schedule. Bike & Boat Tours can be scheduled for most weeknights and weekends.
Cost. The hourly rate ($60) is for any size group to a maximum of six people; the meal add-in is a per person cost of $15.
Pre-Tour Talk. Our guide will contact you before your tour to discuss group size, meal preferences, schedule confirmation and meeting location.
By Bike
From one-on-one training rides to family-friendly sightseeing, we’ve got a tour for you. We know all the backroads to local beaches that get the lowest traffic. Our tours range from 2-4 hours and include a picnic in the middle or end of ride (whichever makes sense).
During our pre-tour talk, you’ll let us know your group’s preferred riding pace.
By Boat
Our guide will have a kayak, but you can bring a stand-up-paddleboard, a kayak or other non motorized watercraft on this journey. One-on-one paddles are available as well as group outings – at a fast or slow pace. Tours are available for 2-3 hours and will include a picnic.
The boat tour start & finish location will be flexible: some of the water destinations and launch locations are inaccessible during very low tides so we will schedule the start, finish and tour stops on the tide schedule.
Didn’t bring a watercraft? Rental boats may be available from one of our local vendors. When our guide reaches out for the pre-tour conversation, ask for a recommendation.
