Defy Quitter’s Day by committing to an event:
MOC’s 2025 Event Calendar

The Mathews Outdoor Club (MOC) is excited to announce its 2025 event lineup, offering outdoor enthusiasts of all levels the chance to engage in fitness and adventure across Mathews County, Virginia. Kicking off the season on May 17 with the Tour de Chesapeake bike ride, MOC will continue its tradition of hosting events that promote outdoor fitness and community engagement.

The second event of the year, the 3rd Annual Islander Regatta paddling adventure, will take place on June 28, inviting participants to explore the serene waters around Gwynn’s Island, one of Virginia’s few inhabited islands. On August 16, MOC will host the Wharf to Wharf Swim (W2W), a 1-mile open water swim, offering an exciting challenge for swimmers of all abilities. The season will wrap up on October 18 with the Mathews Marathon, Half Marathon, & Relay, where runners will traverse the scenic routes of Mathews County.
What happened to the other events? The Gwynn’s Island Race 2025 is pending finalization of its new location – still on Gwynn’s Island. Registration will be posted as soon as arrangements are complete. The Micro Triathlons are “paused” for now – with the addition of a new event and growth of existing, we didn’t think we could handle this annual favorite series this year.
