In July 2025, Mathews Outdoor Club reached out to Mathews High School instructor, Wes Robbins, about commissioning the shop class students to construct the Mathews Blueways Trail upgrades: kiosks and covered tables. With materials donated by M&M Building Supply, we anticipate work on these upgrades to begin with the upcoming 2025-26 school year.
Signage created by Jason’s Sign Design in Mathews Virginia will appear on kiosks at all Mathews Blueways locations. The 2’x3′ signs will face the water providing paddlers a clear indication of where they are. Kiosks will also include location name & a map of the entire Mathews Blueways Trail system.
The MOC is working with Mathews Historical Society to document & display history of each location where available – eventually, nearby points of interest will be added to the kiosks.
