An evening of thanks and enchiladas: celebrating 5 years with Flotilla 66

On October 14, members of the Mathews Outdoor Club and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 66 came together for a fun and heartfelt evening to celebrate five years of partnership on the water. The gathering featured a delicious potluck dinner with a Mexican-themed buffet and good company all around.

Members from both groups shared stories from past events like the Islander Regatta and Wharf to Wharf Swim, where the flotilla provides crucial water safety support.

After the regular meeting came to a close, Flotilla Commander Mike Moore turned the floor over to Mathews Outdoor Club. After brief words of thanks, the dinner commenced!

Representing the Mathews Outdoor Club, Christine Johnson and Emily Jones expressed their appreciation to Flotilla 66 for five years of steady support and friendship.

The evening wrapped up around the buffet line — piled high with enchiladas, rice, beans and homemade desserts — as everyone looked forward to continued collaboration on the water.
