Community Support 2016: Roadside Cleanup

VDOT Adopt-A-Highway Program

If you follow our group on Facebook, you probably read the news that our club has taken on sponsorship of a local road in Mathews County as part of the VDT Adopt A Highway program. It will be a few weeks before our sign is installed – we will likely schedule our first trash pickup day in October. We have a 2 mile section of Route 14 – trash bags & safety vests will be provided by VDOT, grabber tongs by the club.

Twice a year, Mathews Co Visitor Information Center (MCVIC) sponsors community roadside pick up dates. When that happens, they often provide coffee, donuts and other snacks as a sign of appreciation.

I hope you all will consider joining us during one of our scheduled clean up days – the exact dates will be shared via Facebook and email.
