Celebrating 360 Hours in 2022 – & counting!
The Mathews Outdoor Club (MOC) launched in 2021 when it acquired a local running group and branched out to provide outdoor fitness beyond running. From no-cost duathlons to paddling regattas to competitive races to group ex to adult swim: by the end of June 2022 the MOC has logged a total of 360 hours of outdoor fitness in Mathews County. That’s more than double the hours from this time in 2021, which was 144.
Making Use of Mathews County’s Amazing Spaces
Word is getting out: our Cardio Sculpt class (Wed, 5:30pm at Williams Wharf) led by Hope Lowe has a loyal following – and Open Water Swim (Mon & Thu, 5:30pm at Williams Wharf) attendance is also picking up. MOC has formed a great partnership with Mathews Land Conservancy, who manage Williams Wharf Landing, who are extremely welcoming and flexible with that facility.
Low Cost & No Long-Term Commitment
Sound like something you want to try? It’s pretty easy: fill out an online form & waiver, then show up at Williams Wharf. The fee to participate is $5/ person for any session you attend. There is a one-time $25 MOC membership fee: we can waive this cost if needed. We do not want cost to be a barrier to fitness – please reach out for more information (firstname.lastname@example.org). The low per session cost allows you to try out a session and see if it is right for you – without making a long-term commitment.
